trackEx Privacy Policy

trackEx ("the app") is a personal expense tracker for Android published by HoverMinds ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have.

Data the app stores on your device

The expenses you enter (amount, description, category, payment method and date), your categories, spending limits, and settings (theme, colour theme, currency and the Google Sheet you linked) are stored locally on your device. They never leave your device unless you turn on Google Sheets sync.

Your device may include this app data in its own backup (for example Android backup to your Google account), according to your device settings.

Google Sheets sync (optional)

If you choose Sign in with Google in Settings:

• You sign in with Google on your device. The app asks for permission to see, edit, create and delete your Google Sheets spreadsheets (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets).
• The app uses this permission only to read and write expenses in the spreadsheet you link in Settings, and to create monthly tabs and a dashboard in that spreadsheet. It does not open, read or change any other spreadsheet.
• Data travels directly between your device and Google's servers over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). It does not pass through any server we run.
• The app shows your Google account email address in Settings so you know which account is connected. It does not store or send it anywhere else.
• Your spreadsheet stays in your own Google Drive and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Use of Google user data

trackEx's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

• Google user data is used only to provide the sync feature you turned on.
• It is not transferred to anyone, except to Google itself when the app writes to your sheet.
• It is not used for advertising, and not sold.
• No person at trackEx reads it. We have no means to access it.
• It is not used to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, sell, rent or share your personal or financial data.
• The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools.
• The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone or file access.

Security

Data on your device is protected by your device's own security (screen lock and Android app sandboxing). Data synced to Google Sheets is sent over HTTPS and protected by your Google account.

Keeping and deleting your data

• On your device: data is kept until you delete it. Settings → Delete all data on this device removes every expense, category, limit and setting, and disconnects your Google account. Uninstalling the app also removes this data.
• In your Google Sheet: the spreadsheet belongs to you. Delete it, or individual rows, in Google Drive or Google Sheets.
• Google access: you can revoke trackEx's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children

trackEx is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at this address.
